The past is finished. The future is hoped for but the present is certain.
Living for the present moment may be difficult for some but it is essential in enjoying your life. We have been able to witness the results of the past. We can only believe that the future will manifest into what we want. But we can trust in the essence of the present.
What’s so significant about the present? The present it definitive. There’s no doubt or a cloudy ambiguous solution. It is exactly, what–it–is. This is why there is power in the words you speak to yourself, about yourself, about your life and towards others. You can build up or tear down by just using the words that come from your mouth. Positivity breeds positivity and negativity breeds negativity.
Before the the process of speaking can begin, you have to recognize the origin. Our thoughts that we create, ponder, and ruminate on eventually become the words that we release into the atmosphere. When you think about something, it’s like you are watering a seed. When you speak that thought, you release it and allow it to bloom. There are some seeds that produce fruit that is enjoyable, nourishing, and pleasing. However, there are some seeds that produce fruit that is damaging, harmful, and repulsive.
When you think about the the way in which you express yourself, you are generally speaking, in the past, present or future tenses. Here’s an example of how some people describe their day.
Past: My day was horrible.
Present: My day is horrible.
Future: My day will be horrible.
There have been days when literally from the moment that I wake up some crazy mishap has occurred and continued to occur throughout the day. Have you had one of those days? I can remember banging my foot against something hard and stubbing my toe. Then spilling coffee on my white shirt. Followed by later in the day, finding an out of order copier machine (No photo copies for me!) Finally due to the low internet reception, I wasn’t able to project the story I needed for my lesson.
This day was literally a mess and I probably grumbled throughout the entire day. I could see me saying, “This day is crazy. Oh my goodness! I can’t even!” Since there is power in our words, I set the motion that my entire day was going to be crazy and it truly manifested in every way imaginable. If I had changed my thinking and spoke positively, I would have been able to switch my reaction and attitude about my day. In turn, this may have changed the outcome of the events that occurred.
I should have said, “I am great. Today is wonderful. Everything is in order and in place.” Speaking these words emanates throughout you and within the atmosphere.
Everything has to shift into place because of your words.
The wonderful thing about our thoughts and utterances is that we are allowed the opportunity to change the results we are seeing. We can do this simply by imagining what we want and speaking them as though they are.. Therefore, speaking in the present tense.
Every morning I set my intentions for the day. I found some affirmations that are helpful for me to mold my day into what I want it to be. Writing them down is helpful for me so that I can see and repeat it daily. Eventually my goal is to commit it to memory.
